● Cookie consent for Shopify stores

Ask for cookie consent — and have Shopify follow it.

Mint Cookie Consent shows a clear cookie banner where your store needs consent and saves every choice with Shopify's Customer Privacy API, so Shopify's analytics and pixels wait for consent in those regions. Reject is as easy as Accept, and one flat price covers any amount of traffic.

Features

A cookie banner that respects your shoppers

For stores selling to the EU, UK, Switzerland, US states with privacy laws — or everywhere.

Shopify
Built on Shopify's Customer Privacy API

Every choice is saved with Shopify's own consent API, so Shopify's analytics, app pixels and custom pixels follow it. The app never reads or writes Shopify's cookies directly.

Regions
The same regions as Shopify

Your consent regions — EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland, any other country, or everywhere — are written to Shopify's privacy settings, so the banner and Shopify's pixels follow one set of rules.

Fair
Reject is as easy as Accept

Accept all and Reject all always look the same. Nothing is ticked in advance, and a Cookie settings button lets shoppers change their mind at any time.

US
US privacy choices and GPC

Data sale opt-out in the US states you choose, a “Do not sell or share my personal information” option (Pro), and the Global Privacy Control signal honoured.

Proof
Consent log with CSV export

With Pro, every choice is logged with a random consent ID, region, choices and time for 12 months — no IP address, name or email — and exported as CSV.

Light
Small, fast and accessible

One deferred script of about 7 KB compressed, no layout shift, keyboard and screen reader friendly, and built-in texts in 14 languages. Works with Dawn and Horizon.

How it works

Three steps, no code

The app's home page walks you through it and shows the status of each step.

Turn on the app embed

One click opens your theme editor with the banner switched on. Save, and it's on your store.

Turn off Shopify's banner

One click in the app, so shoppers see a single banner. You can switch it back on at any time.

Choose your regions

Pick where consent is asked and which US states get privacy choices. Save, and Shopify follows the same rules.

FAQ

Questions merchants ask

Does this make my store GDPR or CCPA compliant?

No app can do that on its own. Mint Cookie Consent helps you ask for consent and record it, and makes Shopify follow each choice. What your store needs depends on where you sell, your privacy policy and the tools you use — check with a legal adviser if you're unsure.

Will Shopify's pixels really wait for consent?

In regions where consent is required, Shopify loads an app pixel or custom pixel only when the shopper's choice allows the purposes it declares, and its own analytics follow the same choice. The app writes your regions to Shopify so these rules apply exactly where the banner asks.

Does it block other scripts on my store?

Apps and pixels that use Shopify's Customer Privacy API follow the choice automatically. Tracking code pasted into theme files doesn't ask for consent and isn't blocked by this app; move it to a custom pixel in Settings → Customer events, or remove it.

Why turn off Shopify's own cookie banner?

So shoppers see one banner, not two — and Shopify only takes region changes from apps once its own banner is off. The app does it with one click (or you can do it in Settings → Customer privacy), and you can turn Shopify's banner back on at any time.

What does it store about shoppers?

On the Free plan, nothing on our servers: choices are saved only in Shopify. With the Pro consent log: a random consent ID created in the shopper's browser, region, choices, banner version, language and time, for 12 months. Never an IP address, name, email or browser details.

Will it slow my store down?

The banner is one deferred script of about 7 KB compressed, served by Shopify's CDN. Styles load only when the banner shows, it floats over the page so nothing moves, and on the Free plan it never contacts our servers.

Is there a limit on visitors or page views?

No. Both plans cover unlimited visitors, page views and choices, and the banner never switches off because of traffic.

What happens if I uninstall?

Shopify removes the banner from your theme. The regions the app wrote stay in your store's privacy settings; turn Shopify's banner back on there so shoppers can still give consent. Your settings and consent log are deleted 48 hours after uninstalling.
